Harris had two seasons remaining on the five-year, $17.5 million contract he signed with former Giants general manager Jerry Reese in 2015. Harris took a $500,000 pay cut last offseason, which lowered his salary from $2.975 million to $2.475 million for 2017.
Harris made the Pro Bowl as a special teamer in 2016 due to his coverage skills. His production as a returner has declined since 2015 when he had two return touchdowns and averaged 28.7 yards on kickoffs and 10.0 yards on punts.
He’s a hell of a er. I’m a big fan of his, big fan of what he’s done, Goff said of Cousins. He’s tremendous. I don’t think he gets enough credit for what he’s done. Some of the throws he made [that] we see on film. You rewind it, you watch it again. It’s unbelievable.
I asked why Cousins doesn’t get more credit.
I don’t know. Because guys like you don’t like to talk about him, Goff said with a laugh.
Cousins has been talked about plenty since then, and he’ll be talked about plenty more as the offseason continues to unfold. The biggest topic will be whether Cousins, on a championship-caliber roster (which he didn’t have in Washington) along with a normally-functioning front office (which he didn’t have in Washington), can improve on what was three straight 4,000-yard seasons, including one that maxed out at 4,917.
Rogers has shown flashes, but caught just 18 passes for 149 yards last year. He was a 48-catch er in 2016, and with the deals passed out yesterday to receivers of similar pedigree, that would have qualified him to get rich somewhere.
The Steelers might still bring him back later, but the timing of the injury kept him from cashing in.

The ABC sitcom Black-ish has never shied away from hot-button political topics. But NFL anthem protests are apparently a bridge too far.
Kenya Barris, the creator of Black-ish, confirmed that ABC declined to run an episode of the show that included characters arguing over football players kneeling for the national anthem. The episode was set to run on February 27 but was replaced with a rerun, and ABC has no plans to air the episode or make it available on any other platform.
Given our creative differences, neither ABC nor I were happy with the direction of the episode and mutually agreed not to air it, Barris told Variety. 锟斤拷Black-ish’ is a show that has spoken to all different types of people and brought them closer as a community and I’m so proud of the series.
Darnold is an athletic playmaker (7,229 passing yards, 57 touchdowns, 22 interceptions in two seasons) who can work from the pocket and excels outside of structure. He looked like the No. 1 overall pick before the 2017 campaign, and his talent hasn’t changed between then and now.
When the Jets called teams with a top-three draft pick to inquire about the possibility of a trade, it would appear the New York Giants rebuffed any such overtures.
Two possible reasons why general manager Dave Gettleman wasn’t willing to move the second overall pick: either the Giants are enamored with a quarterback prospect or Gettleman wanted much more in return than the Colts received (the sixth overall pick and three second-round selections).
It will be interesting to see which players we can potentially line up first for initial visits, Maccagnan said. Obviously we’ll be very active on the first day in terms of the higher profile guys. I think the one thing I’ve noticed in the NFL this year or in the past years, I should say, is free agency moves very quickly. If you have guys targeted and you have your range how you value them, we’ll be very active.
Everyone is looking at whether the Jets will make a huge offer to quarterback Kirk Cousins, but they should also be preparing to call Drew Brees锟斤拷s agent tomorrow, if Brees and the Saints don’t come to a deal today. There have been a few free agents who I’ve written articles about the Jets signing, including Allen Robinson and Tyrann Mathieu. So far the team hasn’t signed a one, but here’s hoping that this article breaks the trend.
In theory, the Jets already have a decent receiving corps with Quincy Enunwa, Jermaine Kearse, Robby Anderson and two very young receivers with potential in Chad Hansen and ArDarius Stewart.
Elite Womens John Stallworth Jersey I’d rather the Jets choose Pryor because I believe he is more athletic than Hurns and his last thousand-yard season was only two years ago as opposed to Hurns’ which came three years ago. Pryor also has more experience acting as a number one receiver, which it is likely either of these guys would be on the Jets.
Hurns, however, is two years younger than Pryor and perhaps has more potential, so Jets fans shouldn’t be upset if he’s the one Gang Green goes with.
Kids Dan Majerle Jersey Either way, the Jets should be fine if they sign either of these two. They definitely have enough cap space to and the team should be trying to do everything it can to ensure the successful development of whoever they draft. Pryor or Hurns could prove to be invaluable in that respect.
It’s not clear where the 27-year-old Fluker will fit along Seattle’s offensive line. He played right guard for the past three seasons after beginning his career at tackle. Ethan Pocic finished his rookie season in 2017 as Seattle’s starting right guard but has also played left guard and right tackle. Luke Joeckel, Seattle’s starter at left guard for much of last season, is an unrestricted free agent.
The agreement was first reported by the NFL Network and CBSSports.com. The financial terms of the deal weren’t immediately available.
Fluker spent last season with the New York Giants, appearing in nine games with six starts, after beginning his career with the Chargers, who drafted him 11th overall out of Alabama in 2013. In Seattle, he’ll reunite with Womens Sammie Coates Jersey offensive line coach Mike Solari, who was hired by the Seahawks this offseason after spending the past two seasons in the same capacity with the Giants.
The Giants signed Fluker on the cheap last offseason to a one-year, $3 million deal. He began the 2017 season on the bench before working his way into the Week 4 starting lineup at right guard, where he was a difference-maker in the run game when healthy.
They lost Malcolm Butler, Solder and Lewis, which is quite a bit to cough up in one offseason.
And while the team got an extension done for safety Nate Ebner, it shouldn’t stop the Pats from grabbing a playmaker in the defensive secondary—though it can’t be Mathieu after his deal in Houston.
As usual, the Patriots are an attractive destination for a free agent. If the Patriots are willing to pay the necessary cash, they’ll add a player on a market that has yet to really develop while waiting on Mathieu to find a landing spot.
New York Giants general manager Dave Gettleman made a solid trade for linebacker Alec Ogletree.
The Los Angeles Rams apparently didn’t like Ogletree’s fit with defensive coordinator Wade Phillips, though one could guess the team didn’t like his $10 million cap hit in 2018 either.
There is an out in Ogletree’s contract after this year, but a team with hardly $1 million in free space as of this writing is bound to need some relief.
Grabner’s second goal in as many games was the Devils’ 10th shorthanded goal of the season.
The Devils doubled their lead at 13:27 when defenseman Damon Severson threaded a long pass to center Nico Hischier at the Kings’ blue line. Hischier entered the offensive zone and snapped his 16th goal of the season past Quick.
After the Devils failed to capitalize on three second-period power plays, they added a third goal in the third period. Brian Boyle set up a 2-on-1 rush for Miles Wood and Drew Stafford, where Wood kept the puck and beat Quick for his 17th goal of the season at 6:06.
The Devils continue their California swing with the second leg of a back-to-back on Sunday, when they play the Anaheim Ducks at 9 p.m. Eastern at Honda Center.
They then play the San Jose Sharks at 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday at SAP Center in San Jose, and the Devils end their marathon six-game road trip against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh.
That’s one way of protesting Andrew McCabe’s firing as deputy FBI director, roughly a day before he was set to retire: At least one Democratic congressman has offered McCabe a temporary job so he can get full retirement benefits 锟斤拷 and McCabe appears to be considering.

Gerrit Cole has possibly the best arsenal in MLB with a fastball in the upper 90s and three more pitches many scouts grade as above average. Despite all of the tools in his toolbag though, the talk around Cole this offseason is how to fix the former NL Cy Young candidate after the worst season of his career.
That is what Hinch wants him to do, and with a pitching coach like Brent Strom who had every Astros’ starting pitcher from a year ago adjust in some way, Cole could see his numbers come back to the mean rather than the outlier of a season he had in 2017. Cole said he is looking forward to doing some new things and doing it somewhere new.
I’m pretty relaxed right now, Cole said. A change of environment has been really nice.

Both teams have won three Stanley Cups since 2009. Both teams have had good fortune in the draft. Both are way too overexposed, and both are frustratingly well-managed (with a few bumps here and there). Defensive coordinator Wade Phillips has helped develop unheralded inside linebackers such as Todd Davis and Brandon Marshall in years past, so the Rams might be able to get by without big-money players on the interior.
Gettleman gives up fourth- and sixth-round picks to the Rams, who send a 2019 seventh-rounder back as part of the deal. The Giants managed to avoid sending the 102nd pick and instead sent their later fourth-rounder, the 135th selection, but they’re not in a position to trade away draft picks given how bereft the back of their roster is at the moment. This is a better swap for the Rams.
The Seattle Seahawks are keeping a key member of the Legion of Boom in place after releasing one of the leaders of the group last week.
The team has agreed to a three-year deal with versatile safety Bradley McDougald, one of the team’s 16 unrestricted free agents.
McDougald entered the league with the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent in 2013 and was claimed off waivers by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers later that season. He went on to start 36 games from 2014 to 2016 for Tampa Bay and had a career-high 91 tackles in 2016.
Given the rapid-fire succession of trades we saw from Dorsey on Friday, though, it’s difficult not to see this as an inflection point for Cleveland’s team-building strategy. It has been popular (if not entirely accurate) to think of the Browns as the NFL equivalent of the Philadelphia 76ers, compiling draft pick after draft pick while failing to show any shred of competitiveness for a number of seasons.
New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton has publicly declared that he’s not the least bit worried that his franchise quarterback could become an unrestricted free agent Wednesday afternoon.
In a move that further confirms the shift in how sports leagues are delivering their content to fans, MLB and Facebook have struck a deal under which the social networking platform gets exclusive rights to 25 afternoon games this season, Bloomberg News first reported via Twitter.
Most of the MLB games Facebook will webcast are on Wednesdays, and the package begins April 4 with Phillies vs. Mets.
Also on the docket: Brewers vs. Cardinals on April 11; Royals vs. Blue Jays on April 18; and Diamondbacks vs. Phillies on April 26, a Thursday
From a consumer’s perspective, the deal makes all kinds of sense. Many people have access to computers at work, but not televisions. Some of these folks will surely appreciate the opportunity to catch some baseball on a Wednesday afternoon, while their bosses probably would rather they be working.

He was a Marlin. Then he was a Ray. Now he’s a Maray. Hechavarria can really pick it at the six, but don’t expect all that much offense. His career .291 OBP just about tells the whole story. But seriously, he’s got an excellent glove.
Out of the rotation, Ohtani is capable of bringing triple-digit heat, and he has already shown off an impressive breaking pitch in his first spring start. That’s going to mean stealing at-bats from Kole Calhoun and Albert Pujols, but Ohtani is talented enough to do it.
Kevin Durant has been fined $15,000 for his comments about a referee after the Warriors’ 123-112 win over the Knicks Tuesday, according to USA Today.
Durant said a referee had an attitude during the game, which he claimed led to a technical foul in the second half.
“He tried to make a bunch of excuses, and I told him he was wrong, and he went to halftime probably with an attitude,” he told reporters after the game. “So the second half, his whole thing is like he’s trying to get me. So look at my first tech. I got the rebound and I dribbled the ball hard, and he teched me up. He was searching for me. He looking to try and tech me up to get me back because he’s still in his feelings from the first half.”
Love routinely finds his name in the center of the Cavs’ hurricane, and he somehow figures out a way to avoid flying off the handle. Yes, he looks goofy sometimes. He makes funny faces when he’s trying to defend a quicker player. His status as the team whipping boy is good for all the jokes and memes you can post on social media.
But making fun of Kevin or Devin or Tevin won’t improve the Cavs’ lackluster defense or suddenly make the oldest team in the NBA younger. It’s time for the guys in Cleveland to stop looking at Love and start looking in a mirror.

Brian Dozier reiterated that he expects to become a free agent after not having any talks with the Minnesota Twins on a contract extension this offseason.
“I will be a free agent this fall,” Dozier told the Star Tribune in an interview published early Monday morning. “That’s the bottom line. You can only say you want to be here so much, and nothing gets done.
Dozier has emerged as one of baseball’s best offensive second basemen, combining to hit 76 home runs with 192 RBIs and an .871 OPS over the last two seasons. He belted 42 homers in 2016 — an American League record for a second baseman — and had another outstanding season in 2017, batting .271 with 34 homers and 93 RBIs while helping Minnesota reach the postseason for the first time since 2010.
Despite a slow free-agent market this winter, Dozier is not concerned about hitting the open market. He would join a potentially historic free-agent class that could include Bryce Harper, Clayton Kershaw, Manny Machado, Josh Donaldson, Dallas Keuchel, Craig Kimbrel and Andrew Miller.
“I think teams have gotten a lot smarter, and they really break down the numbers,” he told the Star Tribune, referring to this offseason’s lack of free-agent activity. “The biggest thing in free agency is really making sure agents know their players’ value, and that their players understand that. … I think my better years are ahead of me, because of the way I feel and what I put into my body.”
“I’ve spent enough of my career in the minor leagues,” he told the Chronicle.

Eric Karabell: The starting pitcher I will be most interested in for drafts will depend on the options secured earlier, to some degree. I will mostly look for strikeout options, of course, and for the middle rounds I have tended to avoid injury risks, thus I have no shares of Leo Howell’s coveted McCullers. Godley’s performance looks legit to me, and now that the humidor is in effect in Arizona, I could see him repeating his numbers. I suppose Weaver could have a season like Godley just did, but if each is available I would likely go with the more proven option.
